Course Description:
This course focuses on the principles and practices of designing reliable systems, products, and processes. Students will explore the importance of reliability in various industries and learn how to integrate reliability considerations into the design phase. Topics include failure modes and effects analysis, reliability modeling, testing methodologies, and case studies of successful reliability engineering. Emphasis will be placed on creating robust designs that meet or exceed reliability requirements.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamental concepts of reliability engineering.
  2. Apply reliability analysis techniques to identify potential failure modes.
  3. Incorporate reliability considerations into the design process.
  4. Develop strategies for testing and validating reliability.
  5. Evaluate and select appropriate materials and components for reliability.
  6. Analyze case studies of successful applications of Design for Reliability.
